In 2003, Shared Apparel Services, who service Dowd Corporation and NNT Uniforms, decided to select a warehouse management system that would overcome all the problems being encountered by the manual , paper based warehouse process.
We chose pacXcan over a number of products, mainly due to its flexibility, ease of interface to our ERP, and ability to suit a mixture of hanging and carton packed areas within one warehouse.
By April 2004, we had it fully implemented, and by end 2004 after 9 months trading, we recorded a stock take accuracy of 99.986%, and this then allowed us to convince our auditors that annual stock takes could be replaced by periodical cycle counting. This was a massive improvement over our normal annual variance of around 1 to 2 percent.
In 2006 we also took on a major upgrade which then allowed us to have true multi-warehousing, and this allowed us to implement pacXcan into 3 of our satellite warehouses, in Sydney, UK and Singapore. pacXcan is now fully integrated in all our warehouses and allows us to maintain over 1 million garments across 4 warehouses, with seamless integration for our Stock Receivals, Stock Returns, Inter Company and Inter Warehouse movements, as well as integration with Asian third party warehouse providers, with superb accuracy and complete visibility. I cannot recommend pacXcan highly enough.

Extremely happy with how easily the system was implemented and how efficiently the transfer of the data occurred. Another advantage was the ease with which the warehouse personnel adopted to the new process. As one employee quoted “before I had to be a pilot and now I am driving an automatic”. Stafford now has full visibility of exactly where the stock is and at what stage the processing of customer orders is at.
This state of the art paperless warehousing system has streamlined the handling of over 40,000 SKUs through picking and despatch and completes the entire order processing under a two hour turn around.
pacXcan software has given us so much more flexibility that we have brought our Fiji division on line and have total control and visibility of stock movements between Fiji and Australia. This has also giving us the option to change the way we receive stock from overseas or from our local suppliers, giving us more choices into the future.
We are extremely happy with pacXcan and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
